AIR is the Aspen Art Museum’s annual festival of contemporary art, performance, and ideas. Each summer, AIR gathers artists, filmmakers, performers, poets, composers, scholars, cultural leaders, and audiences in Aspen, Colorado, for a week of new commissions and live encounters charged by Aspen’s high alpine landscape.

Rooted in a year-round program of artistic research, convenings, and the commissioning of new works, AIR extends the museum’s mission beyond its walls, through Aspen’s wider cultural ecosystem and into the public realm. Iterative by design, each edition is influenced by the last, cultivating an expanded community of artists and collaborators whose relationships with the program deepen over time. Organized each year around a curatorial theme, AIR connects disciplines—visual art, film, music, literature, architecture, and technology—through shared points of inquiry.
